It is my honour and privilege to announce that the first ever We Eat Films Festival (WEFF) was an absolute success. While it certainly wasn’t the biggest film festival ever the community was enthusiastic, and the submissions were absolutely amazing. Great work came out of the Advanced Film Making course at Fanshawe College, and from the University of Southern California.
Taking home the prize for Best Documentary was Drew McLean for “Safe Haven.”
Danny Dunlop and Leopold DeWolf tied for Best Narrative, with “Dear Eva” and “We Are Your Friends” respectively.
Congratulations to Danny, Drew, and Leopold for their award winning work, and to all of those who submitted. For the first run of a local festival like WEFF the caliber of films on display was absolutely astounding. There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that these directors will go on to make great works.
