How “Alien” will Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” be?

"Oh no... not again!"

For those of you excited about Ridley Scott’s return to, not only the realm of science fiction, but the Alien universe he created back in 1979, I bet you’re about as pumped as fully developed Chest-Burster ready to buckshot its way out of John Hurts ribcage! But there has been one big issue for fans as film details continue to develop, and that’s what the heck is the movie even about??? So the film, titled “Prometheus”, is a prequel?… yes. So that means we’ll get to see aliens!!!… Not quite.

Michael Fassbender, who is attached to the project, as well as Scott, have both been adamant that this film will stand on its own. Something individual from the previous “Alien” films, but that strands of Aliens “DNA” can be found in the story. So that’s a metaphor right? As if to say that we will only find hints, homages and winks to the original classic? Well that’s how things have been interpreted thus far. Here’s where things get interesting! two days ago, Bendon Connelly reported a series of confident rumors for bleedingcool.com that seem to suggest that both Scott and Fassbender were very much speaking in code. Here’s how Connelly believes the “Alien” Aliens will take part in “Prometheus”:

“Remember how the alien took on canine qualities after gestating in a dog? You may even suppose that the first film’s alien was so recognisably humanoid because it had grown in a human. The same applies here: generation by generation, the creature mutates. As Prometheus begins, the xenomorph is not too recognisable. Sure, it has that alien DNA that Scott and Fassbender teasingly referred to, but it’s missing… well, it’s missing human DNA. Or dog DNA.

“All you have to do is imagine how it might look if it were to mix DNA with another alien species… and I think we’re starting to work it all out.”

And there you have it. We might have a new look to the Aliens we know and love, but the universe may still have the H.R. Giger feel to it! I’m getting more exited about this project with every tidbit of information released!
