Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho Prequel TV Show in the Works at A&E.

AMC recently decided to start development on a TV show prequel based on Martin Scorsese’s classic film, Goodfellas. Similarly, there is a new Hannibal Lecter TV show in the works that will focus on Will Graham and killer Hannibal Lecter’s relationship. Unsurprisingly, A&E is following suit with a new TV show prequel series based on the classic Hitchcock film, Psycho, called Bates Motel.

The Bates Motel pilot was written by Anthony Cipriano. The casting and director has yet to be announced. The Hollywood Reporter let us in on a bit of what the Bates Motel will be about:

“The series would offer an understanding into how Norman Bates’ psyche developed and would tell the back story of the film’s killer, learning of how his mother, Norma, and her lover damaged him, transforming him into serial-killing motel owner.”

When new info is revealed we’ll be sure to have it, so stay tuned to We Eat Films.
