Darren Aronofsky hopes Michael Fassbender will join him in building the Ark

With the story of Noah’s Ark being Darren Aronofsky‘s (Black Swan) next film, rumors of who is to play Noah have flooded the internet. Originally, Christian Bale (The Dark Knight Rises) was set to play Noah, but he has since passed. Variety is now reporting that Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class) is being sought after by Aronofsky, though there has been no official offer. So far, the only film that Fassbender has for sure signed on for in the upcoming year is Twelve Years of Slave, which will reunite him for a third time with director Steve McQueen.
