The Paranormal Activity Franchise Will Continue With a Fourth Film

Written by Curtis Sell January 03, 2012

A Fourth Paranormal Activity Film is Coming Next Year.

The hugely successful horror franchise, Paranormal Activity, will get a fourth entry in the series. After the recent success of the latest film, Paranormal Activity 3, it looks like Paramount looks to continue to cash in on the franchise by making another entry in the series which is currently unnamed.

Paranormal Activity 3 made well over 200 million dollars globally at the box office, which, makes it far more than a modest hit. The franchise is known for it’s shoe string budget; Paranormal Activity 3 was made for only an estimated 5 million dollars which is nothing when considering that it’s not uncommon to see a film that was made for 60 million dollars or much more. For example another Paramount film, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol was made for an estimated 145 million dollars. It’s easy to understand Paramount’s enthusiasm.

There is no information on whether it will be a sequel, prequel or if it will continue the story whatsoever. The next entry is due out next year and it’s unknown whether Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Cat Fish) will return to direct the fourth film. They previously directed Paranormal Activity 3 which you can check out the trailer for below.
