Spielberg to Make Moses Film After Lincoln and Robopocalypse

Deadline reports that director Steven Spielberg has set his sights on directing a biopic of Moses with the working title Gods and Kings. While previous films have depicted the life of the Jewish biblical warrior, Warner Bros. intends to distance the film from previous depictions, such as the Cecil DeMille directed Ten Commandments, with a much grittier depiction of brutality in war, reminiscent of Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan. While it is not official, Warner’s Bros. believes discussions for Spielberg’s involvement will be finalized by the end of the month, with production to begin somewhere in the spring of 2013.
