Goodfellas coming to AMC

AMC has managed to acquire the rights to produce a TV series based off of the Martin Scorsese (Hugo) film Goodfellas.

Developing the series is writer Nicholas Pileggi, who adapted the film from his own book Wiseguys, and Goodfellas producer Irwin Winkler.

The Goodfellas film charted the rise and fall of mobster Henry Hill, as played by Ray Liotta, from 1955 to 1980. There has been no word as to what decade the series would take place, whether it is strictly going to follow the Henry Hill story, or when the series is going to air.
