Hansel & Gretel delayed a year

Paramount Pictures has rescheduled their Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters from March 2nd, 2012 to January 11th, 2013.

The film follows Hansel and Gretel 15 years after the gingerbread incident, now working as bounty hunters, tracking down supernatural creatures. The film stars Jeremy Renner (The Avengers) as Hansel and Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace) as Gretel.

There has been no word as to why the film has been delayed, but it can be speculated that it is due to Jeremy Renner being on the rise. This time next year, Jeremy Renner will have two big films released, The Avengers and The Bourne Legacy, which are expected to do quite well.
