No to Bridesmaids sequel

Bridesmaids earned $288 million worldwide at the box office on only a budget of $28 million last summer, and with that, Universal Pictures was eager to go on another film starring the girls from Bridesmaids. After months of rumors of whether Universal Pictures was going to move onto a sequel with or without Bridesmaids star, co-writer, and co-producer Kristen Wiig, Wiig has finally confirmed that they are not planning on doing one. We had a special time making the first one, but we’re really excited to try something else.

Wiig has said though that she and her Bridesmaids co-writer Annie Mumolo are working on another project together. It’s going to be a little bit of a different tone, but it’s going to be a comedy, for sure
