‘My Week with Marilyn’ Confirmed Release Date

Drama profiling Marilyn Monroe’s life to premiere at the New York film festival in November

Director Simon Curtis‘ film, My Week with Marilyn, follows the tense relationship between Sir Laurence Olivier and Marilyn Monroe during the production of The Prince and the Showgirl and will be released on November 4th, 2011. Taking place in the mid-50s, just after Monroe’s marriage to playwright Arthur Miller, this eerie behind-the-scenes look at the production process of a Hollywood film will expose the stories and bonds that were crafted while the cameras weren’t rolling.

Starring Oscar nominee Michelle Williams as Monroe, Emma Watson as Lucy, Kenneth Branagh as Olivier, and Dougray Scott as Arthur Miller; the film is based on a series of diary entries written by Monroe’s assistant Colin Clark, Eddie Redmayne.

Clark’s diary has since been published in composite halves — the first hitting book stores in 1995, and the second in 2000.
