Ridley Scott sat down with Speakeasy to talk about his upcoming Alien-Universe film Prometheus
In the interview, Scott (Alien, Blade Runner) said that “the reason why I haven’t attempted science fiction in a number of years is because I haven’t really come across a script that I really liked.” The screenplay is written by Damon Lindelof (Lost, Cowboys & Aliens) and John Spaihts (The Darkest Hour)
Scott also spoke about how even though he relied on 3D and CGI for this film, that he is still “a great believer in filming the real thing if you can and so I did a lot of building the real thing.”
The official synopsis for Prometheus is as follows:
Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate myster
