First Draft Complete for The Man Without Fear
Director David Slade (Hard Candy, 30 Days of Night, Twilight: Eclipse) has announced via twitter that the first draft of the Daredevil sequel/reboot has been completed. The script, penned by Fringe writer Brad Caleb Kane, still has to be approved by FOX Studios before filming can begin. Slade admits the script still needs work, but that we can look forward to further reports early in the new year.
Information regarding the films adaptation has been scarce since Slades attachment was officially announced back in March. FOX has been desperate to get a Daredevil film into production before losing the character rights to Marvel. Slade’s adaption has been acknowledged as a continuation of the Daredevil story arc established back in 2003 with Ben Affleck’s portrayal of the blind lawyer/defender of Hells Kitchen, Matt Murdock. However, trades suggest that the film will stand on its own from the previous instalment. Think Louis Leterrier’s The Incredible Hulk to Ang Lee’s Hulk.
If the script is approved by FOX Studios, filming is expected to start next year.
