Super Bowl Movie Ads

Which films will have a commercial?

Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, and Walt Disney Pictures are planning on running movie commercials during Super Bowl XLVI.

It has not yet been announced which films have been selected to be shown, but it has been speculated that  Disney will select John Carter, Paramount G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and Universal Battleship. It has also been announced that Relativity Media will show an ad during the Super Bowl and three pre- and post-game ads for their military film Act of Valor.

The average air time for a commercial that lasts 30-seconds this year costs $4 million. Smaller film companies, such as Lionesgate, which is promoting The Hunger Games, have decided not to spend their money and hope that other means of advertising will work just as well.

Super Bowl XLVI will air February 5th.
