As film medium has evolved, gradually more of its components have become aestheticized. In most films nowadays, opening and ending sequences can be considered parts of a film themselves, where before they were simply obligatory. Title sequences, when done consciously, can act as a prelude or an overture to a filmand can become a dazzling spectacle; comic, suspenseful or otherwise. The folks at IFC agree and have compiled a list of the top 50 best opening sequences ever.
