Top 5 Fabulous Femme Fatales

Written by Pam-Marie Gx November 24, 2011

Ah, the Femme Fatale. Dangerous, cunning and oh-so-sexy, these are the women we both fear and love. They often use seduction as their main weapon, and can render any man powerless with a look and a swaying of hips. So guard your heart, because here are the top five Femme Fatales!

5. Mystique (X-Men I, II, & III)

First up is our favourite lady in blue, Mystique (Rebecca Romijn). This is a woman who can literally become whatever her enemy desires, and use that against them. Her best Femme Fatale moment? Messing with Wolverine’s head in X-Men II.

4. Milady (The Three Musketeers)

This is a new addition to the list, as The Three Musketeers just came out this year, but Milady (Milla Jovovich) definitely knows what she wants and how to get it. Using seduction almost as a distraction technique, she is able to work as a double-agent, blinding all to her inevitable betrayal.

3. Saffron (Firefly)

Speaking of sudden but inevitable betrayals, our next Femme Fatale comes from the TV show Firefly. Featured in two episodes (Our Mrs. Reynolds and Trash), Saffron (Christina Hendricks) excels in using her seductive powers to get what she wants from gullible men across the universe. Few are able to resist her powers, and when they do she is more than capable of using other means to take them out.

2. Sand Saref (The Spirit)

For anyone familiar with the comics, The Spirit comes across more Femme Fatales than almost any other superhero, and this penchant for dangerous ladies is seen in the movie as well. While Silken Floss (Scarlett Johansson) has her charm, it’s Sand Saref (Eva Mendes) who claims the title of ultimate Femme in this film.

1. Catwoman (Batman Returns)

Any incarnation of Catwoman qualifies as the quintessential Femme Fatale, but Michelle Pfeiffer’s interpretation is my personal favourite. A sexy woman with a leather and whip fetish? It would be hard enough saying no, but when she aims her seductive powers at you, saying no is the only thing more dangerous than saying yes.
